Make A Difference Fund

Following the success of the Make a Difference 2018, which helped more than 12 charities and community interest groups to bring about positive change, we are delighted to announce its relaunch for 2019. 

To complement its annual community relations programme, Bicester Village is delighted to announce the second year of providing new funding for organisations throughout the town. The fund has been increased to £30,000 for groups with projects that will enhance the Bicester community. The maximum award to any one organisation will be £4,000.

Who can apply?
To be eligible, applicants must be not-for-profit organisations (such as charities, social enterprises, community groups and voluntary organisations) that are based in, or primarily supporting activities within, Bicester [or surrounding areas].

What type of project can we support?
Projects that add value and create the potential for continued growth and future benefits for individuals in the Bicester community and that reflect one of the following themes:

• Connect Activities to combat loneliness and help people to get to know one another; finding ways to help and encourage those that may be isolated or excluded to get involved; improving community cohesion.
• Engage Activities that positively engage young people through diversionary activities that can improve the lives through raising their aspirations and break down barriers to their success.
• Living well Activities to improve the health and wellbeing of our local community by promoting healthier lifestyles and contributing to an improved physical local environment where people are proud to live and work.

Through this fund, Bicester Village is hoping to support local organisations that might not normally qualify for grants or public funding but that can make a genuine difference in 2019. The fund is not designed to support the general running costs of an organisation or the continuation of existing and ongoing work or projects but to encourage new ways to “make a difference”.
